Mammoth Writing

We had a picture that we had to write a story about, it had to have good puncuation and at least one exclamation mark and one question mark. Here is my work.

The Story Of Wally Neverbird And The Iced Mammoth

“I am going on a hunt for the mammoth!” “I can feel it in my bones, they are alive!!” “What will you take with you!” “Everything I need, even a hair dryer.” “A hair dryer!” “Yes a hair dryer, you need to look stylish dont you know. We don't want the mammoths running away in fright of bad hair do we now?” “Are you stupid!” “No I am not” “A hair dryer will come in handy I just know it!!” Allright, fine! Take your stupid hair dryer.” “Good,  I plan to leave first thing tomorrow morning.” “Tomorrow!” “Yes, I know it's short notice but the Antarctic train comes once a year, and there is no way I can miss it.” “Ok, Ok, take a hair dryer, leave tomorrow, go on a crazy quest to find a wooly mammoth alive, you are a nutter Wally Neverbird.”

After that crazy conversation Mr Neverbird  boarded the train to the Antarctic. Once there he hiked for many days over treacherous terrain, but never did he abandon the hair dryer. Turns out it was a good thing he didn’t, because this happened. Wally had just finished stumbling through a cave entrance, he looked up. “Holy cow, bulls teeth and a box full of peanuts!!!!!” He cried, for there in front of him was a Wooly Mammoth! Covered in a thick layer of ice! So much ice in fact, it was more so a  gigantic block of ice, that just happened to have a massive mammoth in the middle of it!!! To add to his shock it was moving! Only just, though, because as you would expect it's rather hard to move when in the middle of an ancient iceberg. So no, I don't mean the whole mammoth, I mean its eyes were moving! Bewildered and surprised, Wally sat down. It was then he remembered that he had his pack on. He took it off and rifled through the contents: A torch, sleeping bag, lollies, chocolate, some bread, spare batteries, and a battery powered hair dryer. Laying all these out he looked at each one in turn. After a failed attempt to make an ice sandwich, he ate the lollies and chocolate. He continued to look at the rest of the items, “My battery powered hair dryer!!” “Oh how could I miss it, I really am in need of a good hairstyle.” So Wally Neverbird started to style his hair. He felt something wet and cold dripping on him. At first he thought it was the mammoth peeing on him. “Eww dont do that mammoth you'll wreck my hair style!!” Then he realized that A: if a mammoth was to pee it would be warm. B the wet was cold. C if a mammoth was to pee it would be a stream not a drip. D The mammoth couldn't pee on him because there was a thick layer of ice between them.( Even a particularly warm pee couldn't make it through all that ice.) Wally looked up. He slapped himself. It was his hair dryer melting the ice!  He turned it off. “Bingo!!!” He exclaimed, he could use the hair dryer to melt the ice and free the mammoth. And thus he would be famous and never have bad hair again!

The End

Icy Cliff Castle Cafe Similie's Hannah C And Amelia

We have been focusing on Similie's, we had to find a buddy and a fantasy themed picture and write a similie each about the picture we chose. We had to include lots of detail and make it a really good similie, give our picture a title, our similies titles on who made them, and have who it is by at the end.
