For the SLJ we had to createa haiku about summer.  A haiku is a poem that has five syllables then seven syllables then five syllables again.  Here is my summer haiku.

  1. Kia Ora Amelia,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

I really enjoyed this activity as I love poetry and writing Haikus for my friends, I usually write a Haiku in their birthday cards!

I like that you started your post with an introduction to the activity and an explanation of what a haiku is and how to write one.

I thought your haiku was well written and I love the summer theme and background, unfortunately your second row only has five syllables instead of seven so maybe you could add another two syllable word to it.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

  2. Hi Amelia,

Well done on your blog post. I like how you explained what a haiku poem is and the summer theme is so reluctant for today! Just one thing your second line has only 5 syllables I wondered if you wanted to blooming to give you the last 2 syllables that you needs.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Regards

    Mrs B.
