My last boat didnt work so well so here is my second attempt. To make my boat I used: a plastic bag, skewers cut in half, a cupcake baking cup and some tape. First I blew air into the zip lock bag and quickly closed it again. then I made a sail using the skewers as the structure and a muffin baking cup for the sail ( this is extra good because it is wax paper meaning it wont go soggy, and also it is very light.) Bellow is some photos and a video of my boat in action. p.s please let me know if the video doesn't work.

Great job completing this week's Nanogirl activity! It is fantastic to see that you have provided a clear and concise explanation on how you created your boat. It was awesome to see the video that you have created and included on your blog post, you can see that it can float very well. It is so awesome that you have tried it before and you learned what worked well and what did not work well from your last experiment. You should be very proud of your mahi- Ka Pai!!! I am very impressed by your experiment and the presentation and delivery of your blog post.
Do you have any tips for your fellow bloggers on how to create a boat that could float on the water?
I’m looking forward to seeing your next blog!!!
Remember to have an Awesome Summer !!!

ReplyDeleteKia ora Amelia,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Fiona and I am a Manaiakalani facilitator based in Taranaki. It is great to see that you are getting involved in the summer learning journey.
I really like your boat design, and enjoyed watching the video you made of its maiden voyage! I am really glad to hear that you had another go at this challenge after the first attempt didn’t work out so well. Why do you think your first boat design was less successful? Well done persevering to successfully complete this challenge.
Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more great quality posts from you during the summer learning journey.

Hi Amelia,
ReplyDeleteThis was so simple and yet effective. I love how you even demonstrated how it works like a sail boat.
I am so proud of how you are directing your learning of this summer break.
Keep up the good work.
